Building for the Future
The original church building was opened in October 1956 and since then has served a growing congregation and a number of weekly activities and community groups. In recent years, it has become increasingly apparent that we have outgrown the space available and we now feel that the time is right to extend the church building.
As well as needing more space in the main hall for our Sunday meetings, there is a need to provide further rooms for community use. We are often asked if we can provide a meeting room for a community group and we have to say no because we simply do not have the space at present.
Our aim in extending the physical church building is to encourage spiritual growth in the community and to become a body of people that serves the community it is placed in.
Planning Permission
After holding two community consultation events in September 2007 to enable everyone to view our plans and make comments, we submitted our planning application. Our application was successful and now begins the task of transforming our building from this:

to this:
The extended building will provide us with:
* an additional entrance * a variety of multi-use rooms of differing sizes * new toilet facilities, including toilets for the disabled * enlarged kitchen * reception desk and office * quiet room * courtyard for safe children's play * fully equipped creche room
Commencement of Work - Car Park
At the end of July 2008, work began on constructing a small car park to the front of the church. This car park provides us with some much needed off-road parking.
The construction work begins ....
Fundraising
The year 2009 will see us pursuing a number of fundraising initiatives to begin to bring in the finances needed to carry out this project. As well as drawing up a programme of events which will involve the local community, we will also be looking at a number of other options for raising funds. The task ahead is an enormous one but we are confident that God is able.
